Make Advocacy Part of Your Summer Plans
Did you know that summer is a key time of year to advocate for the Parkinson's community?
Members of Congress will soon begin their annual August recess, returning to their home states to meet with constituents. During this time, lawmakers need to hear from you. Legislators are still working to set federal spending levels for Fiscal Year 2019, including funding for science. This summer, speak up for critically needed investments in Parkinson's research.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation's Advocacy Toolkit includes all the information you need to schedule meetings with your elected officials, including talking points and printable educational handouts. And, if you're interested in advocating in other ways, you'll find tips on calling and emailing your members of Congress, and interacting with them on social media.
