Today is the third day of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) 2019 Annual Meeting, and we hope that you join us in attending the NCI Director's remarks during the Opening Ceremony.

Today is also the first day that NCI's exhibit (#2111) is open, and the first day of NCI-Sponsored Sessions. Please see below for details on these activities, and visit the NCI at AACR 2019 webpage for more information.

Sharpless and Lowy

Join NCI Director, Dr. Norman E. Sharpless, and Deputy Director, Dr. Douglas R. Lowy, for an address during the Opening Ceremony. In their remarks, they will share reflections on the exceptional progress in cancer research over the past two decades, and the importance of maintaining that momentum.

This session will provide an update and overview of rapidly implemented NCI Cancer Moonshot initiatives that address the Blue Ribbon Panel recommendations for cancer research in areas poised for progress.

Human tumor
2:00-3:30 PM

Join this session to learn how the Human Tumor Atlas Network (HTAN)is working to discover how the biologic composition within a tumor changes over time and in response to cancer treatments.
