2019-2020 U.S. Flu Season: Preliminary Burden Estimates | CDC

Preliminary In-Season U.S. Influenza Burden Estimates

CDC has begun reporting weekly preliminary estimates of the cumulative in-season burden of flu­ in the U.S. for the 2019-2020 flu season. CDC estimates so far this season there have been at least 2.6 million flu illnesses, 23,000 hospitalizations and 1,300 deaths from flu. In-season estimates are preliminary and updated as additional data becomes available.
