This Week Be Antibiotics Aware
U.S. Antibiotic Awareness Week is an observance to raise awareness about appropriate antibiotic use. At least 30 percent of the antibiotics used in outpatient settings are prescribed unnecessarily. AHRQ has proven infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship resources for clinicians and offers toolkits for hospitals, long-term care facilities, and ambulatory surgery centers.
