TUESDAY: Smithsonian Hosts World AIDS Day Event Featuring NIAID Scientist
In observance of World AIDS Day, the Smithsonian Institute’s National Museum of Natural History will host, “Imagining an HIV-Free Future,” an event featuring prominent experts in the HIV research and care communities, on Tuesday, December 4, at 6:45 p.m. Among the presenters, Dr. Mark Connors of NIAID’s Laboratory of Immunoregulation will discuss his research with people who are long-term nonprogressors living with HIV, meaning they maintain a healthy immune system without standard HIV medications. The event, organized by DC Health and Whitman Walker Health, is open to the public with free registration and will be held on the ground floor of the museum.
