WHAT: This year marks the 15th anniversary of the successful completion of the Human Genome Project in 2003, and the discovery of the DNA double helix structure in 1953, which we celebrate through a nationally-recognized DNA Day on April 25. The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is celebrating in a big way! We're kicking off a National DNA Day Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) series - starting today - with NIH's very own director, Dr. Francis Collins! As NIH Director, Dr. Collins leads the NIH’s efforts to build innovative research programs, such as the All of Us Research Program.
