The Cognitive Module of the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) survey measures subjective cognitive decline (SCD), the self-reported increase of confusion or memory problems over the past 12 months, which may predict future dementia risk. Each fact sheet reports state-specific data on the prevalence of SCD, how many people experience difficulties in their day-to-day lives as a result, and how many have not spoken to a health care provider about their memory problems.
