Featured Article: Outcomes for patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma presenting with N3 nodal disease

The treatment options for patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma with N3 nodal disease (N3 HNSCC) are controversial due to the limited inclusion of N3 HNSCC patient populations in randomized controlled trials. It is therefore difficult to determine optimal treatment regimens for such cancers; furthermore it has been demonstrated that institutional patterns of care can influence the clinical management of N3 HNSCC.
In this research article, M. Witek et al., retrospectively analyze different treatment approaches to evaluate the long-term outcomes of patients with N3 HNSCC.
