HAVING DIABETES DOESN'T MEAN YOU
CAN'T ENJOY EATING WELL THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

When you have diabetes, eating healthy at holiday celebrations can be really tough to do. What can you eat and still stay on your meal plan? What about your favorite dishes, like grandma's sweet potato casserole with marshmallows, Peking duck, roast pork, or all the special holiday cakes and sweets? The National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP) has tip sheets and other resources to help you choose healthier foods from the buffet table, fit in a few treats, and enjoy the celebration.

These holiday and buffet table tips can help people with diabetes make healthy food choices at holidays, celebrations, and buffets. NDEP has included culturally tailored tip sheets for African Americans and five different Asian American groups.
