NIAID Clinical Trial Seeks PLWH and Currently Not on ART

The National Institutes of Health is conducting a research study to learn more about HIV. We are recruiting people who are living with HIV and currently NOT taking medications to treat HIV (antiretroviral therapy - ART). Volunteers must be willing to have blood drawn two to five times a year at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. The collected blood products will be used for research to further understand the mechanism(s) involved in maintaining immune function following intervention with ART. Volunteers will be compensated.
To be eligible, volunteers must meet the following criteria:
  • 18 years of age or older, with documented HIV infection
  • Never taken HIV medications or off HIV medications for at least six months
  • Consent to genetic testing, and allow the NIH to store their blood samples
  • Not pregnant
  • Not currently abusing alcohol or drugs
