Finding the relevant reporting guideline for a study can be very difficult, but reporting guidelines are an important part of improving the reproducibility of published research. A new pilot project is launching on four journals in the BMCseries to see whether a new, 'online-tool' we have developed together with the EQUATOR Network and the start-up Penelope Research can help improve authors’ adherence to reporting guidelines.
