NIH-funded Study Establishes Genomic Data Set on Lassa Virus

NIH-funded researchers develop the largest genomic data set on Lassa virus, which causes a disease called Lassa fever. The new study provides a foundation for ongoing research on medical countermeasures and offers insight into the virus’ origins and transmission.

Lassa fever is endemic to West Africa.
