2011 Data on Discharges From Substance Use Treatment Facilities

2011 Data Report on Discharges Available
The 2011 Treatment Episode Data Set-Discharges (TEDS-D) data and documentation files are now available fordownloadonline analysis, and Quick Tables. TEDS-D is one component of the Behavioral Health Services Information System, maintained by SAMHSA's Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality.
TEDS-D records annual discharges from substance abuse treatment facilities, primarily ones that receive public funding. Demographic information, such as gender, race, ethnicity, education, and employment status, among others, are included in the data. The reasons for discharge and the length of time in treatment are also included in the file.
Substances reported in TEDS-D include alcohol, cocaine and crack, marijuana and hashish, heroin, nonprescription methadone, other opiates and synthetics, stimulants, tranquilizers, sedatives, and over-the-counter medications, among others.
