Welcome to a New Year, Partnership Center Friends!

As you've likely witnessed, mental health is increasingly a topic of discussion in public and private discourse. The national focus on the opioid crisis has helped to shine the light on co-occurring mental health challenges, often intertwined with addiction.

Research shows that people usually turn first to the compassionate care of local faith communities or congregations when they are experiencing various challenges. That's why the Partnership Center wants to educate and equip faith leaders, members, counselors, and volunteers to recognize the signs and symptoms of various mental health concerns, and, if necessary, refer individuals and their caregivers to proper treatment services.

In the weeks ahead, the Partnership Center team will
roll out many new, helpful, and practical resources you can use to navigate this complex topic. We also encourage you to share these resources widely.

For up-to-the-minute content, be sure to connect with us on Twitter® and Facebook® . We also have a library of webinars on our YouTube® channel, and our Opioid Epidemic Practical Toolkit to share with members in your spheres of influence.

And, as always, thank you for your continued partnership. If we can ever be of assistance, please contact us at Partnerships@HHS.gov or call us at (202) 260-6501.

Warmly,

Shannon O. Royce, Esq.
Director
