Testing Food Elimination Therapies for Eosinophilic Esophagitis
Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a rare inflammatory disease typically triggered by exposure to certain substances in food. Symptoms of EoE vary with age and include recurring abdominal pain, difficulty swallowing, or vomiting. No medications are currently approved to treat EoE.
People ages 18-60 years who have been diagnosed with EoE may be eligible to volunteer for NIH’s SOFEED clinical trial to test the effects (good and bad) of different therapies. This study is being conducted at research centers across the United States. Findings from this study will provide significant practical information for clinical recommendations.
