Instructional Videos for Health Care Providers | STEADI - Older Adult Fall Prevention | CDC Injury Center
Falls can be devastating but in most cases, they can be prevented. Below are three simple assessment tests healthcare providers can do in their office to assess their patient’s risk of falling. These are tests of mobility (The Timed Up and Go (TUG) test), strength (the 30-Second Chair Stand test), and balance (The 4-Stage Balance Test). To perform each test, a chair with a straight back and a stop watch is needed. Please refer to the videos and documents below for specific instructions on how to conduct each assessment test.
