Medical Breakthroughs: First to Know

Is Beauty in the Eye of the Beholder?

Someone sent me a link to 45 beautiful photographs from around the world. And my favorite thing about them is that they tell me where each one was taken. So often photographs are not identified and I always want to know where they were taken. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did…and be sure to watch all 45 of them!
     Watch our Medical Headline Videos:
  •      Podiatrist Beth Gusenoff and Plastic Surgeon Jeffery Gusenoff, MD at UPMC are married and blending their expertise to treat foot fat atrophy.
  •      Dr Anath Shalev, Professor of Medicine at UAB Comprehensive Diabetes Center is using Veraparnil to cure diabetes-1 in mice and is looking for people to participate in the clinical trial to see if it will do the same for people.
  •      Urogynecologist Holly Richter, MD at UAB is using a new non-surgical treatment for bowel control. It’s called the Eclipse System.
Our first special report is about a mysterious disease that affects only women. Dr Ahmed M. S. Soliman, MD, Director of the Voice, Airway & Swallowing Center at the Temple Head & Neck Institute says it is often misdiagnosed as asthma or alleriges but is something called ISS…a condition that causes a woman’s throat to tighten.
We also have the full length doctor’s interview with Dr Alicia Kaplan, MD, a psychiatrist specializing in treating anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder at Allegheny Health Network: “A New Way to Banish Panic Attacks.”

Finally, physical therapist Ron Miller, DPT at Pursuit Physical Therapy in Orlando says knee pain is often all in your hips. Read it and weep…but get help.
And there's more where that came from...

“What is objectionable, what is dangerous about extremists is not that they are extreme. But that they are intolerant. The evil is not what they say about their cause, but what they say about their opponents.”
