Coronavirus news and resources for global health researchers
In December 2019, an outbreak of COVID-19, an acute respiratory illness caused by the novel coronavirus 2019-nCoV, was detected in mainland China. Researchers have been tracking the spread of the virus , have developed a diagnostic test for 2019-nCoV and are working on a number of vaccines to protect against 2019-nCoV .
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) leads NIH's research and response on coronaviruses.
