The Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) is a global effort to strengthen the world’s ability to prevent, detect, and respond to infectious disease threats. Over the course of the first 5 years of GHSA implementation, CDC-supported countries have strengthened public health readiness to contain outbreaks at their source. Threats remain, and sustained focus on global health security is critical to protecting the United States and the world from dangerous diseases and outbreaks.
