Brain Safety Starts with YOU - Brain Injury Awareness Month - March 2020

Brain Safety Starts with YOU - Brain Injury Awareness Month - March 2020

Brain Injury Awareness Month is recognized every March. It provides an important opportunity to bring attention to the prevention of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and to promote strategies to improve the quality of life for people living with TBI and their loved ones. TBIs affect the lives of Americans of all ages. Anyone can experience a TBI, but data suggest that children and adults 65 and older are at greatest risk.

Many TBIs, including concussions, are preventable. Join us in spreading the word about TBI and concussion prevention throughout the month of March.

Get started today:

  • Promote Brain Injury Awareness:
    • Did you know that March 4 is officially Brain Injury Awareness Day on Capitol Hill? Spread the word, and support brain injury awareness all month long!
    • Do you have young athletes in your life? Introduce them to Rocket Blades! This action-packed game takes kids on a futuristic racing adventure—while teaching the ins and outs of concussion safety. Available on iOS/Apple, Android, and Amazon. Download CDC's HEADS UP Rocket Blades game app.
    • Download the HEADS UP Concussion and Helmet Safety app, which will help you learn how to spot if your child or teen has a concussion. Plus, this app includes a 3D helmet fit feature that teaches about proper helmet fit, safety and care.
    • CDC’s HEADS UP released an updated training for coaches! The training includes updated information and a new website to help coaches store their certificates and find other training resources. Click here to access the training.
