CDC would like to congratulate and thank the members of thePresidential Advisory Council on Combating Antibiotic-Resistant (AR) Bacteria for their willingness to serve in the fight against one of the biggest public health problems facing our world today. The members convened in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, Sept. 29 for the first public meeting. The Advisory Council consists of human and animal health experts who will provide advice, information, and recommendations to the Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary on federal AR-related programs and policies to ensure the continued effectiveness of antibiotics and slow the threat of resistant germs…
