Flu Season 2015-2016 Has Begun!

The CDC recommends that all people with diabetes receive a flu shot annually.

People with diabetes are at high risk of serious flu complications, often resulting in hospitalizations and sometimes even death. The flu also can make it harder to manage diabetes, leading to serious high or low blood sugar levels. Free resources about diabetes and the flu season are available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Plan now to increase flu awareness and promote vaccination this fall.
