CDC Expert Commentary: Screening Asian Patients for Chronic Hepatitis B
Dr. John Ward, Director of CDC’s Division of Viral Hepatitis, is featured in the Medscape CDC Expert Commentary Series. The series is part of a collaboration between CDC and Medscape and features CDC experts who offer video commentaries on the current topics important to practicing clinicians. Dr. Ward’s commentary focuses on the importance of screening Asian patients for hepatitis B since most people of Asian heritage came to the United States from endemic countries or were born to parents from these countries. It is estimated that 1 in every 12 Asian Americans is living with chronic hepatitis B. If you do not already have a Medscape login, you will need to sign up by providing your name, email address and profession.
