Advances in Chronic Rhinosinusitis From the 2026 American Rhinologic Society Conference at COSM Vijay Ramakrishnan, MD

https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/chronic-rhinosinusitis-american-rhinologic-society-meeting-2026a1000b1a Advances in chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) from the 2026 American Rhinologic Society Meeting at COSM are reviewed by Dr Vijay Ramakrishnan from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. Dr Ramakrishnan first presents findings from a MarketScan database study of 55,000 patients with CRS and nasal polyps from 2016 to 2024, which showed that since the FDA approval of dupilumab, biologic use has outpaced endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS) rates. He notes that these data suggest possible overuse in the US compared to international guidelines, which reserve biologics for severe, refractory disease.
