The PneumoRecs VaxAdvisor mobile app helps vaccination providers quickly and easily determine which pneumococcal vaccines a patient needs and when. The app incorporates recommendations for all ages so physicians, family physicians, pediatricians, and pharmacists alike will find the tool beneficial.
Users simply:
  • Enter a patient’s age.
  • Note if the patient has specific underlying medical conditions.
  • Answer questions about the patient’s pneumococcal vaccination history.
Then the app provides patient-specific guidance consistent with the immunization schedule recommended by the U.S. Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).

Updates: CDC will release guideline changes and enhancements to the app itself through app updates.

Web Access Tool in Development

A desktop version of PneumoRecs VaxAdvisor is currently under development. Once available, this will give users access to the tool without requiring a device that supports the app.

Background

PneumoRecs VaxAdvisor is a standalone application that provides patient-specific guidance consistent with the ACIP’s pneumococcal vaccination recommendations. Use the app to eliminate the challenge of interpreting and synthesizing multiple vaccination recommendation statements. The app doesn’t request or collect any personal identifying information. It also does not store any information.
CDC welcomes your feedback and questions about PneumoRecs VaxAdvisor. If you have technical issues or a question about recommendations displayed by the app, please e-mail RDB@cdc.gov.
