Dr. Giorgio Lambru
Dr. Giorgio Lambru is a Consultant Neurologist and clinical lead of the Headache Centre at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK. He pioneered the first and only fast track cluster headache clinic in the United Kingdom. He runs a large multidisciplinary complex facial pain clinic and one of the largest headache neurostimulation services in the UK. He is involved in clinical and preclinical research in collaboration with the Headache laboratory within the Wolfson CARD-King’s College London.
Recent advances in cluster headache – a devastating yet fascinating condition
March 21st, 2018 is Cluster Headache Awareness day, a global initiative aiming to raise awareness of an exceptional yet neglected disorder. Since its launch two years ago, this initiative has created exciting events and meaningful collaborations of different entities across Europe with a noble purpose: urging to spread awareness, instigate compassion and produce new interests in this disorder. Here, cluster headache researcher and member of The Journal of Headache and Pain advisory board, Dr. Giorgio Lambru, tells us about the condition and recent advances in its treatment.
