NIAID-Supported Scientists Unveil New Vaccine Testing Platform Using Human Tissue
NIAID-supported scientists have developed a new modeling system for testing age-specific human immune responses to vaccines, according to a study published today in Frontiers in Immunology. Study authors from the Precision Vaccines Program at Boston Children’s Hospital, directed by Ofer Levy, MD, PhD, report the three-dimensional human tissue culture construct is designed to enable researchers to test, evaluate and select human vaccine candidates for target populations, such as newborns and the elderly.
