CDC National Molecular Subtyping Network for Foodborne Diseases Surveillance (PulseNet) PulseNet is a national network of public health laboratories that perform pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE), a type of DNA "fingerprinting", on certain foodborne bacteria, including Shigella.
