SAMHSA Awards up to $1.6 Million in Minority Fellowship Program Grants To Expand the Behavioral Health Workforce and Better Address Underserved Populations
The grant will improve health care outcomes by increasing the number of culturally competent mental health and substance abuse counselors available in the public and private nonprofit service sectors.
The grants are being provided under the Garrett Lee Smith Memorial Act, which provides authorization and funding for grants fostering youth suicide prevention efforts.
