Patients who received a 100-microgram dose of DT120 saw their anxiety scores fall 9.8 points after 12 weeks, compared with 4.7 points for placebo — a 5.1-point difference similar to the company’s first pivotal study, according to newly released data. About 32% of treated patients responded to therapy and 15% went into remission, versus 14% and 4% on placebo, respectively. Despite the positive readout, commercial hurdles remain: Patients would need to travel to clinics and spend as long as eight hours under supervision while receiving the drug. But Definium might have an advantage over psychedelic competitors focused solely on depression, since it is developing DT120 for both anxiety and depression, conditions that frequently overlap.
