Grade A? Few fast food chains get high marks for beef without antibiotics
Research groups just released a report card on how well your favorite fast food chains are doing at serving beef raised without routine use of antibiotics — and it’s not great. The bad news: Basically everyone failed. Of the 25 chains included, 22 got an F because they don't have meaningful policies regarding antibiotic use in their beef supply chains. That includes McDonald's, which has publicly committed to antibiotic stewardship in its meat supply chain. The only Grade A spots: Shake Shack and BurgerFi. Wendy’s skirted by with D- for buying some beef from producers that have reduced their use of a medically important antibiotic.
