NLM Technical Bulletin, Jul-Aug 2018, RxNorm August 2018 Release

The August full monthly release of RxNorm and release notes are available as of Monday, August 6, 2018. The Veterans Health Administration replaced the National Drug File-Reference Terminology (NDF-RT) with the Medication Reference Terminology (MED-RT) in early 2018.

NLM Technical Bulletin, Jul-Aug 2018, NDF-RT Removed from RxNorm Beginning 2019

The Veterans Health Administration replaced the National Drug File-Reference Terminology (NDF-RT) with Medication Reference Terminology (MED-RT) in March 2018. NDF-RT will remain in RxNorm through 2018. However, the December 2018 RxNorm release will be the last release to include NDF-RT. The January 2019 RxNorm release will not contain NDF-RT data. Please plan accordingly.

NLM Technical Bulletin, Jul-Aug 2018, NCBI Bookshelf Offers OAI-PMH Service

The NCBI Bookshelf now offers an Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH) service that provides access to metadata of all items in the Bookshelf archive, as well as to the full text of a subset of these items.
