October is Liver Cancer Awareness Month October is Liver Cancer Awareness Month. This observance provides an opportunity to raise awareness about viral hepatitis related liver cancer. Earlier this year, the Annual Report to the Nation on the Status of Cancer, 1975-2012, examined the alarming increases in liver cancer and highlighted its causes, which include viral hepatitis.  In the United States, lifelong infections with hepatitis B and hepatitis C are shown to be major risk factors for liver cancer.https://www.cdc.gov/hepatitis/featuredtopics/livercancerandhepatitis.htm
