Recommendations of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices for Use of Herpes Zoster Vaccines | MMWR

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. CDC twenty four seven. Saving Lives, Protecting People

Based on the updated shingles vaccine recommendations, released January 26, 2018, CDC recently made the following changes in Vaccine Labels Examples.
  • Created two new Shingrix® vaccine labels (the standard and the reconstitution label)
  • Changed the Zostavax® vaccine label from LZV (live zoster vaccine) to ZVL (Zoster Vaccine Live)

The example vaccine labels can be used to organize vaccines within your storage unit and are referenced in the Vaccine Storage and Handling Toolkit.

CDC now recommends that healthy adults age 50 and older receive two doses of the new shingles vaccine called Shingrix.
