Participate in the National Drug & Alcohol Facts Week, sponsored by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. This health observance is an opportunity for teens to learn the facts about drug and alcohol abuse and addiction from scientists and other experts.
Organize and promote an educational event or activity for teens during the week of January 22–28, 2018, to help shatter the myths about drugs and alcohol. Register your event, and NIDA staff can help you order free science-based materials to complement your event, brainstorm activity ideas, and partner with other organizations.
NIDA also has several resources to help create a successful event—
- A Five Steps to Hosting a National Drug & Facts Week Event fact sheet
- The Get Activity Ideas and Toolkits web page
- Posters, flyers, and other customizable promotional materials
- A web page describing events that have already been registered
The NIDA approval process for National Drug & Alcohol Facts Week events may take up to 2 weeks, so start planning now!
