Hot Training Topic: Opioid-Related Learning Opportunities

Despite declines in opioid prescribing, we still have too many people getting prescriptions for too many days at too high a dose. According to newly released data, enough opioids were prescribed in 2015 for every American to be medicated around the clock for three weeks. More progress is needed, and changes in annual prescribing from 2006 to 2015 hold promise that prescribing practices can improve.
As a public health professional, help address the opioid epidemic by staying up-to-date on safe prescribing practices and other opioid topics. You can find the latest opioid-related learning opportunities on TRAIN. Courses are available from a variety of organizations, including CDC, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Many offer free CE.
