CDC Public Health Grand Rounds on Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome - Aug. 16 at 1 p.m. ET
Please join us for the August session of CDC Public Health Grand Rounds, Primary Prevention and Public Health Strategies to Prevent Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, on Tuesday, August 16, at 1 p.m. (ET).
Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) occurs when newborn babies experience withdrawal after being exposed primarily to opioids during pregnancy. It’s a growing problem in the U.S – rates of NAS increased five times between the year 2000 and the year 2012. Effective prevention strategies can include: providing preconception health care, and educating both patients and providers about appropriate use of prescription drugs during pregnancy.
