Microscopic image of colorectal cells grown into organoids, from the foundation Hubrecht Organoid Technology (HUB), a not-for-profit organization. Using new techniques to grow cells, scientists can make models that will better resemble the tissue architecture and complexity of human tumors. Organoids are stem cell-derived human 'mini-organs' from tissues of patients with various diseases.
