RARE DISEASE AWARENESS DATES

On 20 April 2016, the European Haemophilia Consortium (EHC) will hold three events in Brussels to mark World Haemophilia Day (observed on 17 April).
The events of the day will aim at discussing some of the most pressing issues faced by the European haemophilia community: the eradication of hepatitis C (HCV) and challenges related to ageing with haemophilia. The day will end with the screening of a documentary ‘Living with haemophilia in Europe’ directed by Goran Kapetanovic. This documentary movie gives an overview of what it means living with haemophilia today in Europe. It encompasses different generations, geographical regions, types of haemophilia and complications. These topics are in line with this year’s World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) World Haemophilia Day theme: ‘Treatment for all is the vision of all.
The day will unfold as follows:
  • 09.30 – 10.30 hrs: Registrations
  • 10.30 – 12.30 hrs: Event on ‘The eradication of HCV in the haemophilia community’
  • 12.30 – 14.00 hrs: Lunch and registrations for the afternoon event
  • 14.00 – 16.00 hrs: Round Table of Stakeholders on ‘Ageing and haemophilia’
  • 16.00 – 17.00 hrs: Coffee break and registration for the documentary movie
  • 17.00 – 18.30 hrs: Screening of the documentary ‘Living with haemophilia in Europe’
The full agenda of the day can be consulted here.
