In the Spotlight: Emergency Preparedness and Response Training Plan
For National Preparedness Month, CDC offers a new Emergency Preparedness and Response online training plan. Effective emergency preparedness and response relies on highly trained frontline public health workers. The introductory courses included in this plan teach many of the main concepts of public health preparedness — important for every public health worker. After completion of the foundational courses, learners can take courses that are organized within the four domains of the Public Health Preparedness and Response Core Competency Model. These courses include Model Leadership, Communicate and Manage Information, Plan for and Improve Practice, and Protect Worker Health and Safety.

New CDC e-Learning Course: Learn to Prevent Older Adult Falls
Every 13 seconds an older adult is seen in an emergency department because of a fall. CDC developed the STEADI (Stopping Elderly Accidents, Deaths & Injuries) Initiative to help providers incorporate fall prevention into clinical practice. The goal is to reduce falls among older adults and to help them remain healthy, active, and independent as long as possible. This course incorporates interactive case-based examples, plus it offers free CE.
