What We Don't Know About Supplement-Drug Interactions(Message from the Director)

Many Americans use dietary supplements as part of their daily health regimen. While there has been research that suggests health benefits of some dietary supplements, there is also a concern about the safety of some products, including the potential for interactions with drugs.

Herb-Drug Interactions

This month, NCCIH featured the important safety issue of interactions between herbs and drugs. Although there is a widespread public perception that herbs and botanical products in dietary supplements are safe, interactions may occur that are of clinical concern.
