2012 and 2013 Added to the NSDUH: 2-Year Restricted-Use Data Analysis System
The National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH): 2-Year R-DAS has been updated to include data for the combined years 2012 and 2013. These data can now be used to access more information from NSDUH on mental health and substance use, including use of services.
The update has 2-year estimates for the years 2002–2003 through 2012–2013 using the Restricted-Use Data Analysis System (R-DAS), an online analysis system for producing frequencies using variables including state identifiers and cross-tabulations of demographic variables such as insurance status, income, race, gender, etc.
New this year are changes to the "OTHER, Specify" category in the IRNWRACE and NEWRACE1 variables. This information is described in the Change History section of the codebook.

All public-use data files are available for download directly from the SAMHDA website in multiple file formats. In addition, SAMHDA provides public access to restricted-use data through online analysis tools.
SAMHDA is sponsored by the Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality at SAMHSA, HHS and is located at the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research, Institute for Social Research, University of Michigan.
