A new slideshow highlights notable scientific accomplishments made by NIAID laboratories and NIAID-funded institutions during fiscal year 2013. Some advances brought us closer to much-needed vaccines for HIV, malaria, and dengue fever, while others expanded our knowledge of newly emerging diseases such as H7N9 influenza and Middle East respiratory syndrome.
