Access to Care Community of Practice Registration is Live! The Region 6 Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH) is excited to announce the launch of the Access to Care Community of Practice! This is a free event and is open to all partners interested in joining and participating in this new regional peer-to-peer learning initiative. Future meetings will be held on a quarterly basis and will feature innovations in care delivery in rural or low-access settings. During the September 9th event, Tom Morris, the Associate Administrator for Rural Health Policy at HRSA, will present on the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy’s (FORHP) current priorities, initiatives, and funding opportunities to strengthen health care in rural communities. He will highlight key rural health challenges—including hospital financial instability, workforce shortages, maternity care access, behavioral health, and chronic disease—while showcasing federal programs, technical assistance, policy efforts, and partnerships designed to improve access to care and support rural hospitals and clinics. The presentation also outlines upcoming funding opportunities, new resources, and strategies for helping rural communities leverage federal programs and build sustainable health care networks.
