Preoperative MRI-based T staging demonstrated oncologic risk discrimination comparable to traditional digital rectal examinations (DREs) for predicting survival outcomes in men with clinically localised or locally advanced prostate cancer (PCa) who underwent radical prostatectomy, a multicentre study found.
Stem Cell Transplant Associated With Better PFS in Natural Killer/T-Cell Lymphoma Edited by Katie Lennon July 24, 2026 Am J Hematol. 2026; doi:10.1002/ajh.70415

Upfront autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) consolidation is associated with improved progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with advanced-stage extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (NKTCL) who achieve a first complete remission after frontline therapy. Among 107 patients studied, those receiving ASCT had a 3-year PFS rate of 78.2% compared with 54.6% in the non-ASCT group.

The proportion of Americans younger than 50 years getting screened for colorectal cancer has increased in the past 5 years since guidelines lowered the minimum age to 45 years. However, not all gains have been equitable, with screening rates varying by race/ethnicity, income, and age in two recent studies that examined the success of the recommendations for expanding screening.

A new mouse study led by UCLA Health suggests that inflammation during pregnancy can trigger autism-like changes in offspring, but also that those brain and behavior effects may be rapidly but temporarily reversible in adulthood with a short-term dose of the immunosuppressive drug rapamycin.
