 Although media accounts tend to oversimplify studies of binge drinking among women, there is little doubt that women are increasingly as likely as men to engage in this dangerous drinking pattern. In this article, the authors describe the prevalence and predictors of binge drinking among women—and the unique risks it may pose for women’s health and safety.
