We’re pleased to share the 2020 Acting on the Call Report! Since 2014, this report has served as a roadmap for accelerating progress on one of USAID’s top global health priorities: preventing maternal and child deaths. Thanks to the support of Congress and the American people, the United States helped more than 84 million women and children gain access to essential—and often life-saving—care in 2019 alone. In honor of the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife, USAID has dedicated this issue of the report to recognizing the heroic efforts of nurses, midwives, and other health care providers on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, and healthcare for mothers and children. Watch Deputy Administrator Bonnie Glick’s virtual launch of this year’s report, during which she reminds us all that amidst the Pandemic, “we must not lose sight of our collective goals on maternal and child survival.” We encourage you to read the report as well as accompanying stories and fact sheet, and join the conversation with this social media resource guide.
