GSA 2018 Annual Scientific Meeting

GSA 2018 Annual Scientific Meeting

Join NIA at GSA in Boston next week!

Posted on November 7, 2018 by Marie A. Bernard, Deputy Director, National Institute on Aging

You don’t have to be a Red Sox fan—or even a baseball fan—to look forward to coming to Boston for the annual meeting of the Gerontological Society of America on November 14–18. This is your chance to talk with NIA staff and learn about funding opportunities, ask what might happen to your application, or just shoot the breeze. Many of us will be there, and we look forward to talking with and meeting you (and maybe having some clam chowder or a lobster roll). Read the full blog post.

CEO Message About Sheraton Strike

The GSA leadership and staff have been working diligently to manage the many implications of an ongoing strike at the Sheraton Boston Hotel, one of our three venues for the 2018 Annual Scientific Meeting. GSA CEO James Appleby has addressed two letters to all attendees that provide an update on the situation.

About the Meeting

The Gerontological Society of America (GSA) is the oldest and largest interdisciplinary scientific organization devoted to the advancement of gerontological research, learning, and practice. Through its Annual Scientific Meeting, GSA offers nearly 4,000 international professionals in the field of aging the opportunity to learn the latest trends and development from industry leaders, build strategic partnerships to address aging challenges, and network with peers.
GSA’s 2018 Annual Scientific Meeting will take place November 14-18, 2018 at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center in Boston, Massachusetts and will focus on the theme, "The Purposes of Longer Lives" chosen by incoming GSA 2018 President, Dr. David Ekerdt, University of Kansas. Here's a video of Dr. David Ekerdt sharing what the theme means to him.
