NIAID Invites Comments on Tuberculosis Strategic Plan

Tuberculosis bacteria (pink)

Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the deadliest diseases worldwide. The U.S. Government has aligned with the World Health Organization’s commitment to reduce TB deaths by 95%, and TB incidence by 90%, by 2035. To that end, NIAID is creating a five-year Tuberculosis Strategic Plan, which outlines key TB research opportunities.

Until July 16th, 2018, NIAID is soliciting comments and suggestions on this framework. The areas of research opportunity include fundamental research, detection/diagnosis, prevention/vaccines, treatment/therapeutics, and resources.
