NIH-Led Study to Assess Community-Based Hepatitis C Treatment in Washington, D.C.





New Hepatitis C Treatment Study Launched
A new NIH-led clinical trial in Washington, D.C. will examine whether primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants can use a new therapy as effectively as specialist physicians to treat people with hepatitis C, a serious chronic viral infection that damages the liver. The trial, expected to complete in 2025, also will examine the long-term effects of the potentially curative  treatment.
